This is one style of masks we are making. It ties with shoestrings.
We can't find any more shoestrings so I am making bias tape/quilt binding with this handy dandy little thingie I found in the basement. Which takes forever! But not to worry there is some on order for The Christ Hospital order (of 300 masks!)
Then a friend from Mt Washington bought out Mt Washington hair ties. They work great too. They are my favorites to sew if you can choose a favorite. Each one of the packages represents 15 masks. Way easier than measuring and cutting the elastic (which you can't find anywhere)
We have cutters that cut the 9x6 rectangle. I put together the kits and put them into what I call a Mega Kit...a gallon size bag with ten kits. then there are sewers that pick up the kits from the front porch. They take them home to sew and then bring them back to the porch. Then start the process all over again. There has been a time that I can not keep enough kits in the bin.
Neighbors/good friends are joining the Little But Mighty Army of Mask makers.
They formed an assembly line.
Looking great!
Ther is a story here.
Alisha posted a pic of her going out bag. We can't have this. So I made her a bright cherry mask.
Emmy's 'kids' borrowed on of the old sewing machines I found and are doing their part.
Jasper, Betsy's cat getting in on the action. The keeper of the machine.

I hope you enjoyed my attempt at quilting. I've learned a lot over the years from comments and conversations I have had with friends on the Internet. I hope you will leave a comment that will inspire me to be a better quilter.
