My friend, Jan, in CA, poted a need for quilt squares...

Healing Hearts Quilts

Kiwi Quilters 9a Facebook group) has been making quilts for those affected by traumatic events.  The quilters at Healing Hearts have organized and coordinated Healing Hearts Quilts for Christchurch, NZ.  50 quilts is their goal-one for each victim killed in the massacre.  They need 1,000 blocks for the 50 quilts.

Green hearts are symbolic in Islam as meaning paradise (heaven, restoration, rebirth, hope, and life.  White symbolizes purity of life.  It is the color most wear when they attend Friday Prayers.

So Betsy and I made for squares each.  We drug our feet on this a little...

So when I finally sent Mark to the Post Office we needed to send it quickly.

Jan and I talked to each other almost on a daily basis seeing if they had been delivered because Jan was going to send our squares with their Quilting Guilds squares.

After about a week this came!  What!  Are you kidding me!

$ 9.30!

Thank heaven I kept the receipt!

I opened it to find an empty envelope...not one square in there.

So I am fuming.  I call the number on the receipt.  I am on hold for 33 minutes.  The poor man on the other end.  I was nice but with a firm, don't mess with me attitude.  He has no clue where they are.  He told me I would need to make a claim.  The only good part of all of this is that they were insured.  I asked for how much and he said up to $200!  So the next part of this drama is filing a claim.  This should be fun.  Wish me luck!
