Betsy and I finally got Dewey's quilt finished.  I think he loves it!

Dewey's Finished Quilt

. Monday, March 7, 2016 .
Awhile back Emmy asked if I would help her make a quilt to give to the principal of Hyde Park School for International Day.  Sure no problem.  Well there seems to be a problem...things beyond our control have caused us to be behind the eight ball.  We have spent the last to nights up until 1AM working on the quilt.

The Art teacher had the 6th grade students make batik squares.

Problem number one...not all the squares are the same size.  We trimmed them to 11 inch squares for the front and 10 inch squares for the back.

I love all the colors.

Emmy likes the looks of the front.
11 inch squares

The back.
10 inch squares

You woud think that two college graduates would be able to figure out the math...a real challenge for us.  And Emmy is really good with math.

We set up shop in the basement...lots of floor room to spread out in.  Only problem is that we have to pick it all up when we finally call it a night.

So today after all the yahoos go home I will be pinning and quilting two quilts now instead of one.  Keep your fingers crossed that I get them both complete by Wednesday morning early when Emmy leaves for work.  International Day is Wednesday.
